Although initiatives for good governance in sports organizations have already begun, the Covid－19 pandemic and declining birth rate have exacerbated governance challenges. In preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, France, as the host country, passed a law on October 4, 2019 that approved a constitutive agreement for a national organization for sport. Accordingly, the Agence Nationale du Sport （ANS）, a public interest corporation comprising industry, government, academia, and the private sector, with the aim of financing and organizing sport, was constituted. In addition to efforts to strengthen the governance of sports organizations, initiatives such as the strategic sports human resources development （Erasmus＋program） in cooperation with the European Union （EU） are also being developed to help sports organizations to perform better. The Erasmus＋program is an initiative for the development of strategic sports human resources and a national qualification system for sports professionals. To acquire knowledge on sustainable good governance in sports organizations, the “2022 International Symposium on French－Japanese Sports Governance” was held at the Sawayaka Arena in Fukuroi City on May 20, 2022.
