In 1928 and 1929 she was at the highest of her athlete life, but in 1930, after participating in the Third Women's World Games in Prague, she was present at several goodwill athletic meets in Europe, which overworked her, causing out of condition. Returning home, she was not able to come back to athlete life. She died in bed at such young age of 24. We can point out three aspects of her sporting life:－I. (player) Needless to say, she was an international top athlete, but it is not so well-known that she was one of the best tennis players at girls' high school in Kansai District, before finding her way to athlete life. II. (writer) Based on her own practical studies, She wrote some useful books for women athletes, as well as contributed to journals.III.(instructor) She trained and bred up young women athlete to her successors. Not only as player, but also as writer and instructor, Hitomi thus made a great contribution to the progress of women's sport in Japan.
