We analyzed first,“Toilet Goddess(Toilet no Kami-Sama)” , that is a Japanese pop song and made a big hit in 2010, second,“ My teachers were hippopotamuses”, an autobiography written by Toshio Nishiyama, a onetime head at TOBU ZOO. Third, we examined“ Mr. Night Watch(Yomawari-Sensei)”, written by Osamu Mizutani, who had been teaching special need education school and high school, and has faced over 5000 boys and girls. It was found from the result that these all materials have the same structure of story. In these stories, protagonists had to do dirty work, and they had a disinclination for their work once. But, they regretted their thoughtlessness by understanding importance of their work. Finally, they all became willing to do the tasks, and filled with feeling a sense of gratitude. Their Way of thinking that was formed in this way is called self-discipline(shuyo), which Ruth Benedict pointed out in“ The Chrysanthemum and the Sword”. Self-discipline, which we can find out in these materials, is an example of the hidden curriculum. We lastly argued that self-discipline is infiltrated through Japanese society, so teachers need to be conscious of it, or they can force their students to do dirty work, to have thought of self-punishment. Students may understand that moral education is teacher's public position.
