内容記述 | This study aimed to monitor and analyze training load in university female rhythmic gymnasts preparing for competitions using the session Rate of Perceived Exertion (sRPE) method. Seven gymnasts participating in individual events were evaluated over a 17-week period leading up to the All-Japan Championships. Daily training duration and sRPE were reported and training load indicators such as “Internal Training Load (ITL)”, “ Acute Chronic Workload Ratio(ACWR)”, “Monotony”, and “Strain” were calculated on a weekly basis. Additionally, body composition was assessed using InBody analyzer at six time points. The results revealed significant variations in training load due to the competition schedule and university events. During a training camp in the sixth week, ITL peaked at 13,860 AU, driven by extended practice sessions and repeated routine practices. Such a sharp increase in training load exceeded values reported in studies of elite athletes and was identified as a potential risk factor for fatigue and injury. Furthermore, ACWR analysis highlighted periods where acute load exceeded recommended thresholds, underscoring the importance of gradual load adjustment. The study also examined the relationship between weight management and training load.Gymnasts who reduced body weight by more than 3% showed a trend of higher sRPE during the competition phase, suggesting that weight management may increase ITL of gymnasts. Additionally, while menstruation did not significantly affect sRPE in the study, it may still pose challenges to psychological and physical conditioning in female athletes. These findings emphasize the need for evidence-based training load management tailored to the unique conditions of university rhythmic gymnasts balancing academics and sports. The sRPE method was validated as an effective tool for monitoring and adjusting training loads, providing valuable insights for performance enhancement and injury prevention for rhythmic gymnastics. |
